Electrical – Fixed Wire Testing

Fixed wire testing is enforced by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE):

Fixed wire testing often referred to as an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a legal requirement.

The inspection and testing involves all of the fixed wire testing electrical installations in a building to ensure they are safe and compliant with regulations.

  • Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992

We recommend that fixed wire testing is carried out every 5 years or at the end of a tenancy, however, depending on the type of business, more frequent testing may be required
